A944 Road Improvement
Temporary restrictions will be in place during off-peak travel only
Aberdeen City Council and the developers of Prime Four have been working closely together to ensure that the road improvement works on the A944 can be carried out as smoothly, safely and quickly as possible.
An exceptional amount of work has been needed to devise a traffic management system that would be acceptable to road users and limit disruption as much as possible.
The A944 will be widened east and west bound with additional dedicated lanes to Prime Four, and the existing Kingswells roundabout will be realigned. All the improvement works will be completed over different phases by the summer of 2013.
There will always be two lanes of traffic open both eastbound and westbound on the A944 during peak travel times (Monday to Friday, 7am to 9.30am; 4pm to 6pm).
Traffic management will be in place throughout the works and will be altered accordingly as the works proceed. A number of traffic management measures will be put in place, including contraflows, which will be in operation at certain stages during off peak hours, including over weekends.
Speed restrictions will be in effect during construction work and temporary traffic signals will be used at the appropriate times on parts of the road.
Prior notice of the traffic management measures being brought into effect will be given and diversions will be clearly signposted.
More detailed information on this will follow in due course as works progress and will be published on both the Aberdeen City Council website and the Prime Four traffic update page HERE
The travelling public is advised that delays are likely and to allow extra time for their journeys.
Drum Property Group would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thanks all the travelling public and local residents affected by the improvement works for their patience, co-operation and understanding.01/11/2012
