Athletes Tame the Loch Ness Beast!

10k of 20 mega obstacles successfully completed by all entrants

800 adventure racers successfully ran, crawled, climbed, dragged, jumped and pulled themselves through the gruelling Prime Four Beast Race last weekend.  This is the second year the race was held at the Loch Ness venue on Aldourie Estate and entrants could complete the course solo or as part of team.  Perfect weather conditions set the scene at the stunning location, with hundreds of spectators arriving to cheer on friends, family and colleagues taking part.

New MC Claire Stevenson, whipped the racers up into a frenzy and Warm up man, Jon Wilson, led the wave groups into an energetic routine in preperation for the race.  The first wave of 150 runners launched out into the course at 10:30 followed by a further 4 waves.  Over 800 people took part in the race and all successfully completed the course.  Obstacles included climbing over hay bales, sliding down into the icy waters of Loch Ness, clambering over wooden towers and trudging through boggy waters.

The winning male stormed around the course in an impressive 52 minutes, with the first female finishing the course in an admirable 1 hour 7 minutes.  All racers received a high-spec Prime Four Beast t-shirt and unique medal with a much needed sweet treat of shortbread when crossing the line. As part of the entry fee, every participant contributed £5 towards the Chest, Heart and Stroke Charity.

The completion of the Prime Four Loch Ness Beast Race means the Banchory race will be gearing up!  With over 60 Prime Four workers entered into the Banchory event and over 2000 entrants to date, the Prime Four Beast Race in Banchory is set to be the biggest yet.  We look forward to seeing everyone in action on the 26th September and wish all racers luck in TAMING THE BEAST!
