Kingswells Time Capsule

28 April 2025

To be opened in 2025…

Prime Four were pleased to be invited to add to the Kingswells Community Council time capsule. Local businesses, residents and friends of the community were asked to contribute something to the capsule that represents and is reflective of life in the Kingswells area.

The Community Centre have been developing the piece of land to the left of the building into a Community Garden. This is work in progress, but there have been lots of landscaping and planting completed, the garden has now been officially named as the Forget-Me-Not garden. As part of this development, the time capsule idea came to fruition.

The capsule had a grand ceremony for it’s burial on Friday 25th April. Aberdeen’s Lord Provost David Cameron and Councilors Kate Blake and Steve Delaney, along with Community Centre staff were all present and assisted with burying the capsule. There was an amazing community spirit, and support for the event attracted large numbers who all gathered in the Forget-Me-Not gardens… hopefully inspiring future generations to dig it up in 25 years!

Prime Four contributed a jar of honey from our resident bees. We have noticed fluctuating levels of their honey production over the years so it will be interesting to see if we still have thriving hives and honey on site in 25 years time. Stored correctly, honey isn’t perishable so the jar could be opened and tucked in to in 25 years time!
