Common Sense Coffee House Opens at Prime Four

27 March 2026

A Practical, Welcoming Space Inspired by Scotland’s Tradition of Everyday Wisdom

A new addition is coming to Prime Four Business Park from 1 April 2026 with the launch of Common Sense Coffee House—a café concept built on the timeless idea that good sense, inclusivity, and quality should guide everyday experiences.

That same spirit of practicality and imagination shapes the new coffee house, which is being developed by Aberdeen based Celera, who have already established the Common Sense Coffee House and Bar, Common Sense Catering and the Books and Beans venue on Belmont Street.  Northeast businesses employing 30 people.

John Wigglesworth, founder of Common Sense and Bonnymuir Green Community Trust said, ‘We have been searching for the right location for developing the Common Sense Coffee House as a ‘grab and go’ offering.  Prime Four have offered the ideal opportunity on the ‘Fourcourt’ and we knew that this was a great location for us to make it happen.  We are now excited to bring Common Sense to Prime Four

I love helping shape community projects, including the Big Belmont Bash and Victoria Park Mark Day, both established and loads of fun.  No rush and first we establish our core service and then it would be great to link into the Community and explore events that could take place at the Forecourt’.

A Grab‑and‑Go Coffee House with a Fresh, Local Approach

Set in the heart of the Prime Four Business Park, Common Sense Coffee House brings a welcoming, “grab and go” café experience to support all the people working at Prime Four and visiting the park.

Operating Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 2.30pm, the service is designed around the rhythms of the business park—early commuters, gym‑goers, and those looking for fresh, high‑quality food and drink throughout the day.

Once the team has settled into the new space, the coffee house will also offer corporate and event catering, expanding its service to the wider Prime Four community.

A Space to Sit, Meet, Work, or Unwind

Common Sense Coffee House includes a warm seating area suitable for solo work or quiet moments, meetings, group catch‑ups, post‑yoga and gym‑class relaxation. When it’s dry and/or sunny there will be outdoor tables and chairs.

A Venue for Events and Gatherings

The coffee house will be available to hire for meetings, receptions, parties, and private events, offering flexibility for a range of occasions.

Why Common Sense?

The name Common Sense reflects more than a philosophy; it reflects a Scottish legacy. The northeast of Scotland was home to Thomas Reid, one of the country’s most influential Enlightenment thinkers. A graduate of the University of Aberdeen, a Church of Scotland minister, and later a professor at King’s College, Reid published An Inquiry into the Human Mind on the Principles of Common Sense in 1764. His work established the Scottish School of Common Sense, a movement focused on clarity, practicality, and shared understanding.

SO common sense just made sense!
